In the Valentine’s Day the lovers meet in the Falls

St. Valentine brings his influence to bear on the lovers in the world and also in the places that are symbol of the city. The kermes takes place in the most romantic places of the city for the occasion of the Valentinian events celebration. Among these places there is Marmore Falls where until 28th February will be some free initiatives.

From the 6th to the 28th February, famous love phrases will accompany visitors from the Lower Outlook to the Lover’s Balcony, the well-known terrace in the middle of the route n.1, near the first and highest drop of the Falls. The 6th, 13th, 20th February (at 3.00p.m.) “the horrified beauty” a theatrical visit along the routes with Lord Byron (a fancy dress operator) “to give voice to the romantic soul of the park”, says the publicity materials. On 7th ,14th and 28th February at 12.00a.m. will be a visit for children in the hidden places of the Falls, representing the loving story between the shepherd Velino and the nymph Nera. It is the famous “Enchanted Walk”, the queen of all guide tours. All the activities are free or the payment is only for the entering to the excursion area of the Falls (the resident in the municipality of Terni have the cheap ticket. On 14th February the Ternanan people have the free entrance).

In short, on 13th and 20th February, the highlight event: “the places in Terni of the heart”. It is a tour that takes the visitors to discover the “closest” places of the city: Marmore Falls, the St Valentine Cathedral and the archaeological site of Carsulae. At 11.00a.m. in front the railway station in Terni there will be a bus shuttle to the cathedral (free visit) and then Carsulae, the ancient Roman town of the Imperial Age near the medieval village of San Gemini, where it is possible to eat or decide to have dinner (a buffet) directly in the bar in Carsulae, prepared from the staff (the cost is 6 Є each person). Then the visit to the archaeological site. Come back to the bus and transfer to the Marmore Falls where there will be another guided tour. The come back to the station at 6.00p.m. the visiting to the sites and the guided tours will be free. The booking is compulsory until the 5.00p.m. of the previous tour.
