NARNI - Museum of the town and the territory

The Eroli Museum houses a rich collection which offers the possibility to discover the local history from ancient to modern times through findings and quality works, like the tusks of  Elephas antiquus, dating back to 700.000 years ago, an Epyptian Mummy and a wooden sarcophagus of the IV century B.C., a roman and medieval archeological collection containing the bronze bowl of the major fountain of Narni aged 1303, and a plaster cast of a statue representing Gattamelata, made by Donatello.

The itinerary continues in the Art Gallery, which contains works  painted by artists who made their marks in Narni with their great historical and artistic productions, including Pierantonio Mezzastris, Livio Agresti, Antoniazzo Romano.

A special area contains two great masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance: the "Coronation of the Virgin" by Domenico Ghirlandaio and "The Annunciation" by Benozzo Gozzoli.

The museum is provided with informative panels and videos with the proposal to know better its collection and the history of the town.
In addition to a well-stocked bookshop, there is a coffee bar with the possibility to taste typical products of the territory on a panoramic terrace overlooking the clefts of the river Nera.

Child-friendly Museum
The permanent itinerary dedicated to kids consists in three thematic stations, dedicated to three important themes of the museum: Narni during the Roman period, lights and shadows of the Middle Ages and the Arts during different epochs.
In each station, set up with little tables and chairs, they can choose among six different fun and creative gaming activities.
